One Day’s Wages partners with 10ThousandWindows to fund a work-study program for trafficking survivors in the Philippines.

One Day’s Wages (ODW), an organization fighting to end extreme poverty, has partnered with 10ThousandWindows to provide internships for human trafficking survivors in the Philippines who have been critically impacted by the COVID-19 economic crisis.

Even before COVID-19 hit, the Philippines was a hotspot for modern slavery and widely known as the “epicenter” of the global cybersex trafficking trade.

Now, the pandemic has created the perfect storm for human trafficking survivors in the Philippines. With economic shutdowns leading to widespread unemployment, trafficking survivors are increasingly desperate, while more predators are online all over the globe, ready to take advantage of the world’s most vulnerable.

Between March and May 2020, cybersex trafficking cases in the Philippines tripled.

Our 2023 Annual Report is here.

“The impact you see in this report is tangible – it reaches so many lives and has the power to transform the entire fight against human trafficking.”
