Katie Rootlieb is the Strategy and Integration Officer at EverFree. In this role, she leads strategic planning, program scale and operational advancement for the organization. Most recently, Katie led With My Own Two Hands Foundation through a multi-year capital gift and infrastructure expansion resulting in water independence, sustainable agriculture and educational opportunities for 10,000 women and children in East Africa. During this time, she also served on the advisory board at The Blum Center, UCI, supporting their partnership with EverFree to develop the Freedom Greenlight, a tool to reduce human-trafficking vulnerabilities.
Prior to these initiatives, as Executive Director of Global G.L.O.W., Katie led the organization’s mission, providing access to education and leadership skills for thousands of girls from vulnerable communities in 30 countries. In this role, Katie was responsible for overseeing international program expansion into health and economic development for girls and for driving Global G.L.O.W.’s leadership role in the United Nations’ Working Group on Girls.
Before that, Katie led partnerships and mission advancement at Surfrider Foundation, combining philanthropy and advocacy to accelerate coastal conservation efforts in North America. Katie was a member of the founding executive team of Illumination Foundation, an organization dedicated to alleviating poverty and ending homelessness. Katie began her career in the corporate sector, where she spent a decade leading communications strategy for fortune 500 brands.
Katie holds a B.A. in American Literature and Culture & Communications from the University of California, Los Angeles and lives in Laguna Beach, CA with her husband and daughter.
