ORANGE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–EverFree, a nonprofit organization that supports survivors of exploitation through data-driven, survivor-led solutions, has appointed Julie Cordua, CEO of Thorn, to its Board of Directors. Julie brings a wealth of experience in leveraging technology for social good, having led Thorn to build technology to defend children from sexual abuse and exploitation globally.
Under Julie’s leadership, Thorn has built and deployed products designed to equip those on the frontlines of defending children from sexual abuse in the digital age. Thorn’s solutions are used by hundreds of law enforcement agencies globally to help reduce the time it takes to find child victims of abuse and have helped content-hosting platforms identify more than 7 million potential child sexual abuse material files. Before joining Thorn, Julie played a pivotal role at (RED), where she served as Vice President of Marketing/Communications. During her tenure, she helped establish (RED) as one of the most successful cause marketing initiatives in history, raising hundreds of millions of dollars to combat AIDS in Africa.
“EverFree’s commitment to ending human trafficking through innovative technology and survivor-informed solutions aligns closely with my work at Thorn and is essential for creating lasting change,” said Cordua. “I’m eager to collaborate with the EverFree team to help amplify their efforts and leverage our collective expertise in using technology to protect children from abuse and exploitation.”
EverFree continues to expand its impact and recently launched Freedom Lifemap, a groundbreaking tool that connects trafficking survivors with vital services and helps prevent exploitation by addressing every aspect of an individual’s wellbeing. In the past year alone, EverFree has connected 1,563 survivors with programs and care.
