Across the U.S., states are taking important steps to combat human trafficking through stronger laws and prevention efforts. But as federal funding is cut, vital survivor services hang in the balance.

A new poll by UC Irvine & EverFree found that while 99% of Americans recognize trafficking as a national issue, only 80% believe it happens in their own state. This gap in awareness stalls action—and survivors pay the price.

As our CEO Kelsey Morgan puts it:

“To admit or to acknowledge that it’s happening in your community requires action.”

We must invest not only in prevention—but in the healing, empowerment, and long-term freedom of every survivor.
