Krisha Mae is EverFree’s Advocacy and Communications Manager. The daughter of Filipino migrant laborers, she was born in the Philippines and grew up in Saipan, Guam, and California. Krisha Mae graduated from UC Berkeley with degrees in English and South & Southeast Asian Studies. Her time at Berkeley, learning from academics and activists driven by progress and change, cemented her commitment to human rights work. She then earned her Juris Doctor from USC Gould School of Law, focusing on international human rights and participating in various public interest law initiatives and legal aid clinics. At USC, she first got involved with EverFree (then Willow International) as a student attorney for the International Human Rights Clinic.
Krisha Mae’s past work experience includes the Philippine Commission on Human Rights, San Francisco non-profit OneJustice, and LBH Masyarakat (Community Legal Aid Institute) in Indonesia. She has worked on human rights issues around modern slavery, immigration, fair trial rights, and refugee support. Krisha Mae is keen to use her skills in storytelling and photography for activism, advocacy, and amplifying marginalized voices.
